What vectorization means
From pixels to clean, scalable paths.
A JPG, PNG or screenshot is a raster image: a grid of colored pixels. Enlarge it and the edges go soft and blocky. A vector file stores the same logo as mathematical shapes, so it stays sharp at any size and every color is a clean, separate area.
Printers, screen printers, sign makers and engravers ask for vectors because their equipment needs those clean edges and solid colors. Vectorization is the job of redrawing your raster logo as those shapes, point by point.

What file formats do you deliver?
AI and EPS are standard, and we also deliver SVG, PDF or CDR, whatever your workflow needs, at no extra cost.
Is this the same as auto-trace?
No. Auto-trace tools guess at edges and produce lumpy curves and hundreds of extra points. We redraw the artwork by hand, so curves are smooth, lettering is accurate and the file is easy to edit.
Can you recreate a logo from a blurry photo?
Yes. As long as the shapes and layout are visible, we can rebuild it as a clean vector from scratch.
Do you provide color separations for screen printing?
Yes. Spot-color separations are included when your artwork is for screen printing. See our screen printing vector art page for details.
Can you match my exact brand colors?
Send Pantone values if you have them; otherwise we match as closely as possible from your reference file.
How long does it take?
Most vector art is delivered the same day or by the next morning, including detailed illustrations. Rush requests are available for an extra fee, so mention your deadline.
